Medical Officer
Al Shifa Maternity Home is seeking qualified and experienced Medical Officers for morning and evening shifts. The role involves providing safe, professional and patient-centred clinical care in general outpatient medicine, with particular emphasis on women’s health, obstetrics and gynaecology-related presentations.

Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with common acute and general medical conditions
- Provide initial evaluation and management of women’s health, obstetric and gynaecological complaints
- Conduct general outpatient consultations, including respiratory, gastrointestinal, febrile and minor medical presentations
- Take complete medical histories and perform appropriate clinical examinations
- Identify emergency or high-risk cases and arrange timely escalation, referral or specialist review
- Assist consultants and senior clinicians in the management of maternity and gynaecology patients
- Prescribe medicines responsibly in accordance with clinical findings and hospital protocols
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely patient records
- Provide counselling to patients and families regarding treatment, follow-up and preventive care
- Follow infection-prevention, patient-safety and clinical governance standards
- Coordinate effectively with nursing, laboratory, pharmacy and administrative teams
- Participate in handovers and ensure continuity of care between shifts
Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognised medical institution
- Valid registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
- Completed house job from a recognised healthcare institution
- Clinical experience in general medicine and outpatient patient management
- Demonstrated exposure to obstetrics and gynaecology
- Good clinical judgement, communication and documentation skills
- Ability to identify emergencies and initiate appropriate first-line management
- Professional, compassionate and patient-centred approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience
Minimum 1 year — Minimum 1 years of post house job clinical experience is required. Experience in general outpatient medicine, women’s health, obstetrics and gynaecology is essential. Previous experience in a maternity home, hospital emergency department or clinical outpatient setting will be preferred.
Required qualification
MBBS with completed house job and valid PMDC registration
Professional registration required
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)
